Questions

Frequently asked

Do you book my driving test for me?

No. Since May 2026 only the learner can book, change or cancel a car driving test. I'll tell you when you're ready, you book it on GOV.UK, then add the date in your account so I can plan the car and a warm-up lesson.

How do I pay?

After each lesson, by bank transfer or cash. Use your payment reference, then upload a screenshot in your account. There are no card payments and you never give me card details.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel in your account up to 48 hours before the lesson and there's no charge. Inside 48 hours you may be charged the full price.

Do you teach automatic?

Yes. I teach both manual and automatic, each in its own dual-controlled car.

I'm a nervous driver. Is that OK?

Absolutely. Lots of my students start nervous. We'll begin somewhere quiet and only move on when you're comfortable.

How many lessons will I need?

Everyone is different. DVSA's guidance is around 45 hours of lessons plus 22 hours of private practice, but your progress page shows exactly where you are.

Where do you pick up from?

From home, school, college or work anywhere in the areas I cover. Use the area checker to see if I cover your postcode.

Can I have lessons on the motorway?

Yes, once you are close to test standard. Learners can drive on motorways with an approved instructor in a dual-controlled car.
